My interest in working with glass developed not long after being hired in November of 2007. While there was certainly an admiration for the craft prior to then, immersing myself in this work opened up a whole new level of interest and appreciation in what we do.
What I love about being a Crystal Maker is being a part of the whole process. I get to handle each piece of crystal and recognize all of their features. It’s great having a role in each piece’s story.
It’s wonderful being a part of a company that cares so much about its products, customers and employees. I’m proud to be a member of the NSC family.

I am a Former School Teacher and Literacy Specialist, Mother of 4 and Grandmother of 1 (so far!). All of my more recent jobs were centered on handicrafts and fabrics: knitting, stitchery and quilting.
My position in a fabric shop was ending in June 2007. My daughter, Menolly, encouraged me to apply for work in the warehouse at NovaScotian Crystal. That was the start of my love affair with Crystal, whether I was washing, packing or, as now, imaging it.
Sand-etching is used to enhance, dedicate, award or personalize beautiful crystal pieces. It's challenging, skillful and creative. It is work I have learned to do well - what's not to love?
How do I phrase what makes me happy to be a part of NSC without sounding goofy? To my mind, NSC is less an organization and more an orchestration. Everyone's contribution is essential. NSC defines the term "teamwork" everyday and at all stages of crystal production and promotion.
There's never been a day I didn't want to go to work. How rare is that? I love my job.

I joined the company 3 years ago. In my position of Fulfillment Center manager I enjoy being part of the NSC team, helping team members complete their tasks. It's great to be part of a team that is growing and bringing beauty to the world. I also love watching the designing of new products.
