Many years ago I became interested in glass and blown glass on my first visit to Italy and could not resist making two purchases which I still enjoy on display every day. When moving back to my Canadian roots, I learned about NovaScotian Crystal in Halifax and have never looked back. After 10 years, I am still fascinated and am still learning what crystal can do to enhance our lives.
I have been selling and promoting NovaScotian Crystal to mainly Canadian companies and promoting NovaScotian Crystal through partnerships and the community for 10 years.
What I love about being a Crystal Maker is the continual evolution of crystal product, the customizing that makes it special to each individual. The team and team work that is crucial in every circumstance.
What makes me happy to be a part of NSC is working with a unique product that literally brightens up peoples’ lives as well as the dedication in each and everyone to guarantee customer satisfaction.

I discovered NovaScotian Crystal the same way a lot of people do. I was walking by back in 1998 and saw the Craftsmen busy at work. I was completely fascinated.
I became interested in my current position here when Terry, at our warehouse, let me know of an available position. I was excited to work here due to the beautiful work that is created by the craftsmen and how welcoming the staff are in the showroom. I decided that I would love to be a part of the tradition of crystal making and a great Nova Scotian experience.
I love making the crystal sparkle and showing how special it is to customers. I love telling how it is made and educating customers about our story.
Come on in to experience NSC for yourselves. If I'm working just ask for me a tour around.
I became interested in my current position at NSC in the summer of 2007: Having returned in the spring of ‘07 from a year abroad in France, I was looking for employment and came across an advertisement for a “Retail Storyteller” at NovaScotian Crystal. Intrigued, I applied and was offered the chance to work in our Showroom. I’m so thrilled that this is where I ended up!
What I love most about being employed at NS Crystal is the opportunity to interact on a daily basis with our enthusiastic customers, and all of my very skilled and interesting co-workers.
I’m very happy to be a part of NSC as there is something magical about our company history, our handmade production process, and our unique and beautiful pieces of crystal. I feel very fortunate to be contributing to our on-going story.
Come experience for yourself our warmth, our dedication, and our passion for our craft… again or for the first time! Hope to see you soon.

I moved to Halifax in 2002 and was looking for a job, and happily landed with NovaScotian Crystal. I have a family member who works on the blowing platform, and was flabbergasted by what they could do! In late 2003, I left to go to university, but in 2006, I had the opportunity to come back. I have been here ever since, and I love that I have had the chance to work in several different departments within our little company.
I really enjoy learning new things about the craft and the people I work with, as well as customers and admirers looking for help. I love the product, and how it’s created. I love working with the other members of NSC and helping our patrons choose a special gift, or just helping them to learn about the craft and our company.
We’re here to help you! Whether it’s to make a purchase or simply to learn; we value your input and admiration.
